Join us on The Leas in front of The Grand for our Edwardian Picnic to celebrate our 50th anniversary, with live brass bands.
FREE – no booking required. Just pack a picnic, bring a blanket and turn up! Don’t forget your sun protection!
Music will be performed from 12 – 4.30pm
This event is part of Folkestone Festivals’ Multi-Cultural Weekend
ABOUT THE BANDS
Alright on the Night – 12 – 2pm
Alright on the Night are a saxophone quartet from the Medway towns. Since 2013, they have entertained crowds around Medway, Maidstone, Gravesend and beyond with a toe-tapping range of popular, jazz, swing and classical music.
Ashford Concert Band – 2.30 – 4.30pm
The Ashford Concert Band was formed in 2003 and is Ashford’s premier concert band, regularly booked to play events throughout Kent.
ABOUT THE MULTI-CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Folkestone Festivals is hosting a Multi-Cultural Festival on the weekend of 17-18 August around the Leas Bandstand
The 25th Anniversary of the Friends of East Kent Buses will also be celebrated. Learn about all transport heritage and
enjoy the two buses on display. Also craft, art, food and drink stalls; selection of food from around the world. Also traditional and contemporary music and dance performances from local and national artistes. Free Punch & Judy show, face painting, kids fun
games, amusements, community group displays.
Bands will play on the bandstand from 11am – 5pm.

By Bus:
The venue is close to the Metropole stops, which are served by the 102 bus between Folkestone Bus Station and Sandgate/Hythe approximately every 15 minutes.

From the stop, head south down Metropole Road East. You will find us on The Leas opposite.
By Car:
There is parking on The Leas in front of The Metropole and The Grand, accessed via Metropole Road East.
