How Do We Feel About Where We Live?

28 January 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free
Poster for How Do We Feel About Where We Live? talk on 28 January 2023

We are holding a FREE community discussion – How Do We Feel About Where We Live? This takes place at the Back Hall of the Cornerstone Centre (former United Reformed Church), home of South Kent Community Church. This is the Church next to Folkestone Central and the back hall entrance is opposite the corner entrance to Kingsnorth Gardens. Doors open at 2pm for a 2.30pm start.

This will start with a talk by Porchlight on the fantastic work they do in the area helping homeless and vulnerable people, including those struggling to cope with the pressures in their lives. Come and hear about their free drop-in Porchlight Open Door ‘POD’ meet-ups to get support and advice, try a new activity or just enjoy a chat.

This will be followed by a discussion with Jon O’Connor of Sunflower House and AFRA that revolves around the theme of Pride in Place and how we feel about Folkestone.
We really want to hear your opinions on living here – highs and lows – and how you see a Civic Society being relevant today.
This event is completely free, although donations to help cover costs will be welcomed. Refreshments will be served.

You are welcome to join as a member on the day – it costs just £10 for the year (£15 for joint membership) and you will receive three newsletters and enjoy discounted entry to events. Members who haven’t renewed can also pay on the day – and we now have a card reader!

We hope this will be a really insightful discussion, so come along and have your voice heard!
