TALK: Civic Day – History of Grace Hill Library – Kathmandu Cafe
17 June 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
On Saturday, 17th June we are offering a FREE event in the afternoon, at the Kathmandu café, West Terrace, Folkestone (near the War Memorial).
The presentation will be on ‘The History of Grace Hill Library’ and will be given by Debby Jones, Gorddinan Consulting.
“The Folkestone Free Library started life on the Bayle at the Harveian Institution in the late 1870s. The building we see today resulted from an architectural design competition won by Brightwen Binyon.”
Come and hear more about the origins of your library and how it has developed over the years.
There will be a couple of fictional stories afterwards.
We will be in the BASEMENT of the café – which is accessed by stairs only.
The presentation starts at 2.00pm, and we will finish by 3.30pm – the café closes at 4.00pm.
The Kathmandu are not charging us for the use of the space, so we do ask that everyone attending arrives with time to spare to buy a drink (the food is very good too!)
